Positive Activities: Cycling in the Forest of Dean!
We started our summer trips programme by going cycling in the Forest of Dean, which was a really fun (and tiring!) day.
Many of us, especially the staff, had not been cycling for a long time - combined with the fact this was the hottest day of the year and that our route was largely uphill, meant this was quite tough exercise! However, we not only managed to cycle for a few kilometres, we also managed to climb two hundred metres over the course of the hill. This meant all our hard work payed off when we were able to coast freely down the hill for ages, a real highlight of the day!
After this, we visited the Clearwell caves and mines, which, being underground and therefore cool, refreshed us nicely after a hot day cycling. We had a really great day and look forward to our other trips this summer!
