Counselling Support

Through our interaction with young people over many years we have determined that gaining access to quality local counselling services for young people is extremely challenging. Many face obstacles preventing them from accessing the mental health support they need across a range of issues, although counselling is particularly acute.

While You Turn is able to support young people with low level mental health issues with our 1:1 Mentoring Programme. We have viewed an increase in the numbers of young people with moderate to high levels of need accessing our service, often with undiagnosed ASD, who are slipping through the cracks and not accessing the professional support they need.

As such, we are grateful for the financial support of John Martin’s Charity who have enabled this exciting new development to our National Lottery Funded Future Wise programme. They have offered funding for a fully qualified and experienced Counsellor / Psychotherapist to work with us one day per week over the next year.

This expansion is a key development of our service and a crucial part of our ethos of caring and supporting one another, working to eliminate the barriers that prevent young people moving forward, and allowing young people to grow within a stable environment. All of this is aimed at enabling a sense of community by providing a space where the excluded are included, and everyone can be their best self.
